Blog #8

When I was in Junior High I use to tell my girlfriends “how can you even be dating him if he’s ugly he isn’t even attractive.” So when I was in junior high I would always be like that “uh, no I can’t go out with him because he ugly he isn’t good looking.” Ever since I was a little girl, I thought guys with spiked up hair were cute. Even when I hit freshmen year in high school I would still go out with guys that I considered cute because that’s all I cared about. Until one day, freshmen year, second semester a guy asked me to be his girlfriend. He did, of course, have spiked up hair but I didn’t think he was what I called cute so I had told my friend about him and she was like “you know what Sheila you shouldn’t care how they look.” Since I was small my sisters and mom told me to not go for the looks because a guy could be cute or hot and be an ass in the inside and treat you really bad or he can be ugly and be the sweetest guy ever, or he can be in between, not be a cute guy or ugly but be like oh he looks good and still be sweet and you got to get to know them as well. Well since that day that he had asked me to be his girlfriend I gave him a chance and since that day we have been dating and we’ll have five years together in February 5. If it wasn’t for her advice I would probably still be going out with guys just for their looks but, since she gave me advice telling me what they had told her I went and followed it too and I got to find out he was very sweet and he is a supportive boyfriend.

Family: 3 Importan People

Like most of you all have a special person in your life I have 3 and I’m going to be talking about them. My boyfriend, my mom, and my baby are the 3 people that are important in my life. They all have a special place in my heart. My boyfriend Giovanni has been important to me ever since we got together. He’s been there for me since day one; he was their when I needed someone to talk to about my families’ problems. He’s made me stronger, helped me believe in faith. If it wasn’t for him I don’t think I would be here in college this far. Whenever I need help in anything he’s there for me and I don’t need to tell him twice. Even though we have problems once in a while we tend to always put them aside or talk about them so it won’t affect our relationship. In addition, my mom has always been important in my life because, if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Since day one of school when I needed help, she would always help me in my homework. She’s been there to listen to my problems, when I needed help or to tell me what I had to do. My mom has helped me in everything. For example, when I got pregnant and I told her she had said to me “I’m going to help you out and you’re going to keep on studying if your dad doesn’t want to be there forget about him, I’m here.” Therefore, it showed me that she cared about me. Best of all, my baby is the most important thing in my life. My son is my motivation; therefore he is important to me in my life. He’s why I’m trying to get farther in my education. For example, when I see him, I start thinking why do i have to do this? Why am I here at this place? It’s because I want to get a degree and work for Christopher my son and give him what he deserves. These people aren’t just part of my family; they are more than they mean the world to me I wouldn’t trade them for anything. They are important to me because they’ve always been there for me through whatever situation it was.
