Blog Post Week 15: A Special Day of My Life :)

June 10, 2011 was a special day for me, it was my graduation day. I can still remember how everything went from when I was getting ready to the day ending being a great day. First of all, I still remember when my cousin woke me up telling me it was eight o’clock that I had to get in the shower because it was a big day for me. So, after I got in the shower I blow dried my hair and ate. Then, I started to curl my hair then afterwards I went to my cousin’s room and I told her that I was ready for her to do my make up so she began to do it. When she finished, I head to school because we had to meet in the gym. When I got there, the principal told us to start getting in our lines because we were going to start heading out to the fields. Next thing you know he tells us, “Okay my 2011 class we made it and it’s time for your ceremony know lets go get that diploma.” So, we began walking as I walked I still remember that the kids that where in the front of the row where doing the wave all the way to the end of the line, while I was shaking and I was excited to see who was going to come see me in my special moment getting my diploma. Next thing you know as we got closer to the seats all I would hear was people yelling and when I got to my seat I looked around until I saw my family. I still remember that it was my mom, dad, little sister, older sister, my brother, grandma and my boyfriend carrying my little baby. When they said my name to get my diploma I got up and all my family was yelling and cheering for me. When I at least expected it the ceremony was over, I was so happy that I got to see my family and I got to hug each and one of them and I will never forget that day it was so special to me graduate from high school and having my family with me.

Pieces of My Heart

Sheila Salazar English 101 11/26/12 Blogger Week 14 Since I’ve been a little girl I always wanted to have my blue prince, as I grew up and I got older I got to meet a guy named Giovanni he has been my boyfriend since freshmen year in high school and I call him my blue prince. He wasn’t what I always wanted my blue prince to be, but as I got to know him I got into him. Ever since we meet, he has been important in my life and has been in my life. He is smart, funny, good looking, and outgoing. He is important to me, not only because he is my boyfriend, but because he is also my baby’s daddy. Since day one he has been like a diary I tell him everything, he sits down and listens to what I say, he’s been there for me when I needed support. Especially when it came to my parents getting separated, he told me everything would be okay and that he was going to be there with me no matter what happened. When I got pregnant in senior year I thought I wasn’t going to keep going to school but, because of him telling me to keep going to school that it would be the best choice not just for me but for my child he has shown that I’m important just how he is important to me. My mom has been and always will be important in my life. My mom is my role model; if she wasn’t here I don’t know where I would be in life. I admire her, after all she’s been through with my dad she is still standing strong not only for herself, but for her children. She cooks and cleans for us. When I was small she would always help me in my homework. When I became a 6th grader and got in junior high my mom told me that If I ever needed something to tell her because she was my best friend whatever it was that she was going to be there for me no matter what and she has. When I told her I was pregnant I thought she was going to tell me to leave and that she didn’t want to hear anything about me and her grandson. But, I was wrong she actually wanted to be there for me, made me a baby shower, was there when I was giving birth and know she’s here at the house watching my son. Not only is she important to me but she is my guardian angel she’s been there for me since I was small. The person that is the most import in my life is my son. I would give my life to him. He has been important in my life since I carried him in my womb. He has changed my life and I’ve matured enough. He is why I’m still standing in my feet, going to college. He has changed my life completely. When my boyfriend and I have our ups and downs my son is why I sit down and talk to my boyfriend. My boyfriend, mom, and son will always be important in my life because they all have a piece of my heart. They’re the reason why I’m standing where I am.

Tatuarte

There is many tattoo shops in town so it was hard for me to choose the one where I wanted to get my first tattoo. I searched around and then later remembered that my dad had gotten a tattoo close to where my boyfriend lives. I went to his house and we decided to walk over to the tattoo shop that was called Tatuarte, which is Spanish for “tattoo yourself.” I looked around the shop and saw the guys work. The guy’s name was Jorge. I really liked his work and his shop was basically like an apartment, but without rooms. It was all one big room, with half of it being his waiting room and the other half being his working area. Feeling really comfortable with his shop, I decided that was where I would be getting my first tattoo, also because my dad was already friends with Jorge and he gave us a discount. When I went to get my tattoo, I was really nervous, but Jorge made it easier for me. He joked around a lot with me and my boyfriend so he could make me laugh and forget about the pain. He did a really good job on the tattoo I wanted. First, he drew it on my leg with sharpies and made sure that I liked how it looked. When he made sure it was what I wanted, he started doing the actual work. I decided to do it colored instead of the plain green that is seen on most tattoos. I really liked Jorge’s work because, instead of just doing it how he wanted to, he asked repeatedly if I liked it in order for me to leave satisfied. Other shops might have just done it how they thought I wanted it and collect their money. Tatuarte, however, made sure it was what I wanted. I really recommend this shop for anybody that is looking into getting a tattoo, even if it isn’t their first one.

Fighting against fast food!

The Fast Food Nation book was interesting and it has affected my eating habitats. Before, I started reading this book I ate fast food every weekend. I know it was bad but, I just couldn’t help but to eat it especially in and out, the hamburgers were and are so good and the animal fries. But know that I’ve read this book I’ve made a choice to stop eating fast food for me and my child because I don’t want my son or me getting obesity or getting other diseases such as, heart disease, colon cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, infertility and strokes. I think it would be sad if we passed away young and to knowing that we passed away with one of those disease that were caused by all the fast food we had ate. I also don’t think it’s bad to eat it once in a while. I don’t think my son will have an issue because the only reason he was eating it was because mom and dad were. My boyfriend and I are going to stop eating it, and at least eat it once a month or for emergencies because if I have food at home were going to start eating that instead of fast food. From now on it will be my family fighting against fast food and the fast food advertises.
